For the past 23 years, Mr. Vacca has developed and established law offices/firms into very successful operations. During the 1990's, he developed a general law practice — with an emphasis in creditor-debtor law, collections, bankruptcy, domestic relations matters, and civil litigation, into the "go to" law firm in northern Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
During that period, Mr. Vacca was chosen by the State of Rhode Island to represent the Rhode Island Share Depositors Indemnity Corporation in the successful collection of hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans during the "credit union crisis".
In 2006, he opened and managed the Rhode Island and Massachusetts offices for a nationwide law firm, in the area of third party collections; developing it into the "model office" for its other offices in 20 other states. In 2007, Mr. Vacca was hired by the firm of Portnoy & Greene, LTD, Needham, Massachusetts to further expand and develop its litigation department into creditor bankruptcy and foreclosure eviction matters.
More recently, Mr. Vacca in 2010 was named in house counsel of Branting, LLC, North Providence, Rhode Island to represent that company in its legal matters for its expansion of that company's medical facilities. Throughout Mr. Vacca's career, he has been highly successful in representing clients in all of their legal matters, ranging from pursuing complex civil litigation matters, to resolving individual financial matters, and straightening out people's personal lives in their domestic matters.
Prior to Mr. Vacca's legal career, he was an award-winning journalist for several daily and weekly newspapers throughout southern New England. He was awarded a New England Press Association Award for Best Sports Section, as sports editor for the Coventry (RI) Townsman.
A native Rhode Islander, Mr. Vacca graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History; studied business administration at the graduate level at Providence College; and received a Juris Doctorate from New England School of Law, Boston, MA. During his studies, he received several awards, including that of being named to the Deans List.
Besides his professional careers, Mr. Vacca has continued to contribute his time and effort towards community work and activism. That has included the following:
While living in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Mr. Vacca served on the Recreation and Conservation commissions for three years. He was also named as a volunteer youth coordinator for East Greenwich's Friday night's sports activities. During his tenure as a vice president of the Executive Board of the East Greenwich Little League, Mr. Vacca spearheaded fundraising which eliminated that organizations' deficit budget. He also served as a Friend to the East Greenwich Public Library, participating in fundraising for that organization.
In his home town of Coventry, Rhode Island, Mr. Vacca has served on the executive boards of the Friends of the Coventry Public Library; Western Rhode Island Civic Historical Society; and as a Board of Trustee for the Coventry Public Library. During his tenure as a trustee, the Coventry Library system has expanded in adding a branch building. He is currently serving a two-year term as President of the Pawtuxet Valley Preservation and Historical Society, West Warwick, Rhode Island; for which he has contributed numerous articles of local historical interest.
In the past, Mr. Vacca became a certified docent for the Rhode Island Audubon Society at its education center in Bristol, Rhode Island; and submitted a grant application for the Western Rhode Island Civic Historical Society, which resulted in the second largest grant ever bestowed a Coventry organization.
Mr. Vacca is also a Friend of the Baseball Hall of Fame, which he visits annually during induction ceremonies at Cooperstown, New York.
